Jill Dennis

DENNIS, Jill Louise Age 47, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Daniel Drake Care Center in Cincinnati, peacefully and surrounded by friends and family, after a long battle with cervical cancer. Jill was born April 15, 1971 in Middletown and lived in the area most of her life. She was a compassionate and dedicated nurse who worked in many hospitals including Middletown Regional Hospital/Atrium Medical Center, ARH Hospital in Whitesburg, Kentucky and she finished her career at Mercy Fairfield Hospital where she was working when she fell ill. Jill was a vibrant, energetic person who never smiled halfway and lit up the room when she did. She was friends with everyone she met, especially if they were children, animals or the elderly. Preceding her in death were two uncles, Paul Dennis and Roger Dennis. She is survived by two children, Zach (Lacy) Quillen and Levi (Stevie) Crum; five grandchildren, Haiden, Ben, Addy, Liam and Avery; her parents, Clay and Millie Dennis; one sister, Jennie Dennis Saxena; two brothers, Jeff (Lea) Dennis and Justin (Susan) Dennis; nieces and nephews, Reece (Jesse), Jared, Logan, Taylor and Priya; several great nieces and nephews; and many extended family and friends. 

David Chapman

Davey was born Feb. 22, 1971, in Middletown, OH, to Pam and Dave Chapman.  He was a 1989 graduate of Middletown High School.  Davey’s amazing work ethic as an iron worker took him to Georgia in the winter of 2017. At the plant he was known to be the first to show up to work and the last to leave every day.  Davey never met a stranger.  He was a fierce friend and loved all those around him.  He was known to say the outdoors was his church. He never missed a chance to go fishing with a friend. He was moved by music.  Any chance to see a live band, he would take it.

He is survived by his parents, Pam and Dave Chapman, his wife, Becky (Kelly) Chapman, his children, Liam, Maggie, Chase, Avery, Markie, stepchildren, Maggie and Aaron, his brother Travis Chapman and wife Whitney, his niece and nephew, Hannah and Jasper, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Helen and Gene Wilson, Lucy and Dave Chapman, and his Uncle Mike Wilson.

Woody Barker

Elwood (Woody) C. Barker, passed away suddenly Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the young age of 47.  He was born Saturday, February 27, 1971 in Middletown, Ohio.

Woody had an ear for music.  He was talented at playing the guitar and had a great voice.  Every year, he would host "Barkeroo," a music festival held at his home that family and friends always looked forward to -- 21 Pilots even played in his living room.

Having a very close relationship with his two daughters, they enjoyed training in martial arts together.  Woody was also an avid outdoorsman, enjoying nature while hiking and mountain biking.  As a Systems Engineer at Mitsubishi, he shared his love of computer science, volunteering many hours with Code For Kids, a non-profit organization that promotes the education of children in coding, robotics, and other STEM-related skills.

Woody was preceded in death by: father, Donald Franklin Barker; and mother, Cinda (nee Emrick) Taylor.

Woody is survived by: daughters, Celeste Barker and Patience Barker; brother, Rick Barker; sister, Tamara Barker; nephew, Chad Barker; step-mom, Barbara Barker; as well as many other loving family members -- and friends he loved as family.
